Poza Azul Waterfall

Escaleras Escape has its very own neighborhood waterfall!!

Located just 5 minutes from Escaleras Escape, the Poza Azul is easy to get to and free to enter.

Poza Azul is seasonal and is usually running between the months of May-December.

Getting There

From Escaleras Escape take a left at the butterfly rock and follow the Poza Azul Road down 2.5 km.

You will see a small dirt parking lot on the right side of the road and the path is directly across the street.

The Hike

It’s a 5 minute hike down to the falls and easy enough to do barefoot or in flip-flops.

The Fall

Poza Azul is a natural beauty equipped with a rope swing and natural swimming hole.

Its fresh crystalline waters are inviting and refreshing. Suitable for both children and adults, its the perfect place to chill out, swim around, and get crazy on a rope swing.

Keep a close eye on the surrounding trees as this area is known for sloth and monkey sightings!

There are no restaurants or shops down around the falls so come prepared with enough food and water. Poza Azul is a popular place for picnics and group gatherings, but please make sure to be responsible and clean up your mess before you leave.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit this fall would be during the rainy season between the months of June-December.

If you want the place to yourself, Escaleras Escape would recommend visiting early morning or during a weekday.

The locals tend to spend their Sunday afternoons at Poza Azul making the falls pretty busy at this time.
